I have never liked being on camera. These days, even less. I always speak my mind and damn the consequences, and a face on a screen makes that harder to do freely. So I built one that could do it for me.
Simi is an alter ego. Not a mascot, not a filter. She is based on me and she shares my ethos, but she gets her own interests, her own habits, her own particular way of seeing a room. She's kinda like my likkle cousin from Senty (St. Elizabeth where part of my family is from). She's the DJ I never became; the photographer I keep meaning to be. She represents the creative avenues I might have taken, if I'd taken them.
Building her lets me step back into the parts of this ecosystem I actually want to spend my time on: the teaching. The rest, the presence, the persona, the face people scroll past at 4pm, that's hers now.
This page is where we track that. Consider it her paper trail. It will grow as she does.
