A childhood home on a black sand beach, a hilltop road above the Kingston skyline, and the open water where a father threw his infant daughter into the sea and she swam.
Each fragrance was chosen for truth, capturing the specific, irreplaceable feeling of a place that lives on in the body long after the place itself is irrevocably changed... or gone.
SIIM RAAS [BadWords] COLLECTION
When words fail you - Give dem some Raas!
Likkle but tallawah [small but strong], Jamaican-isms have spread around the world, boldly subverting colonial negatives and transforming them into a powerhouse of creativity in music, art, dance, literature, and thought. SIIM's BadWords collection is a tribute to the bombastic plasticity of Jamaican language and culture, which continues to evolve and nah stop [never stops]... to Raas!
This collection is Core SIIM. The original and still the favorite, like their namesake SIIM Butterflies are One-of-a-Kind.
This collection is inspired by the Jamaican Giant Swallowtail butterfly, Papilio homerus. There are 21 species of butterfly in Jamaica, 7 of which are Swallowtails (i.e.: the hindwings have extended portions called tails). The Giant Swallowtail is endemic to Jamaica and is under threat of extinction.
With an average wingspan of 15cm (6 inches) it is the largest true swallowtail butterfly in the Americas. Extremely rare, its remaining number is unknown, and though protected under the World Wildlife Protection Act, it may soon disappear forever.
