ONE BAGGA TINGS [FEATURED CONTENT]

The first renewed Spewsletter opens with the loss of SiiM's mother, Erma, and the freedom and encouragement that made Gallivant possible. It moves through books, the upcoming family estate sale and the civilized pleasures of a Kingston morning house-music party, re-establishing the newsletter as a personal space for what SiiM is creating, learning and discovering.

As Seen On Coffee With America - SiiM & Gallivant

A short interview with Author SiiM on her book Gallivant: A Travelogue

Mongoose Monday turns a split-second decision into a whole meditation. Driving to work, SiiM's tires pass on either side of a baby mongoose in the road — unharmed, but frozen, staring up as the car goes over him. Too much speed, too little time to stop. What follows is the mental rescue that never happens: the towel she'd have grabbed, the furious mother mongoose, the traffic she'd have had to brave — all worked out too late, a mile down the road. The piece was written mid-flight to her uncle's funeral, the mongoose's eyes still staring into her mind's eyes, alongside a bigger, harder question about the moments we replay and can't undo.

Mongoose Monday

A near-miss with a baby mongoose on the way to work spirals into a meditation on guilt, hesitation, and mortality — all while the writer is flying to a funeral. A raw, funny, achingly honest journal entry about the moments we replay forever.
